Tigris – Launched Coaster Coming to Busch Gardens Tampa in 2019October 11, 2018
Thrill-seekers in Florida have a lot to look forward to in the coming years, with promises of some amazing new attractions coming to Busch Gardens Tampa. Next year, the park will debut Tigris – a triple launched coaster that will allow riders to experience the hunt of a tiger first-hand.
SeaWorld has built similar coasters at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg (Tempesto) and at SeaWorld in San Diego (Electric Eel) in recent years, but this will be the first coaster of its kind in Florida. It will also be the tallest launch coaster in Florida!
Tigris will rise to a peak height of 150 feet, and will reach speeds of over 60 miles per hour. As a triple launch coaster, riders will be sent forwards, backwards, and then forwards again onto a circuit of twists, turns, and sharp inclines that could make Tigris one of the most intense rides in the park.
Busch Gardens has many fans because of its commitment to a higher purpose of conservation, so while guests prepare to experience the thrill of Tigris, they will be able to read about the plight of tigers in the wild and what Busch Gardens and its conservation partners are doing to save this magnificent species. Tigris will also be located near the park’s existing tiger habitat in Jungala.
The park has hinted that another major thrill ride will be coming to the Gwazi area of the park in 2020, so check back for more updates on future exciting attractions coming to Tampa.
